What is a Postpartum Doula?

What to expect :

The role of the postpartum doula is to offer physical and emotional support to families when their baby is born. Or intention is to not take over the care of the household, but to educate and empower the couple, and to set them up for success especially for those first 3 months postpartum.


Our services include :

  • Infant care and education : diaper changing / burping techniques / bathing / nail and cord care, etc 
  • Momma care : consistently encouraging rest, hydration, and proper nutrition plus helping set up sitz baths and hydrotherapy for overall recovery
  • Breastfeeding and bottle support : helping with initial latch, positioning and offering ways to encourage a good milk supply / teach pace feeding with a bottle, plus can offer suggestions of specific brands which we have seen to provide great results
  • Light housework : laundry, general tiding up, dishes
  • Meal prep : happy to assist in creating a meal train for the family along with prepping for meals, grocery shopping 
  • Other : errand running, sibling care, pet care, access to our resource list


Scheduling :

We believe in creating a solid foundation of support and education. Over time, it has been clear that if clients commit to our base minimum, which is a minimum of 2 days a week, 4 hours at a time, for 2 weeks at a time, they are able to ground in their confidence early on. Beyond the initial deposit, we can work together to tailor to your needs at that time, always maintaining at least a 4 hour minimum per shift.
